On my main server, I have winamp 5.08e being fed tracks to play by my own mp3-selection app, so the current track in Winamp is always changing per song (yours seems to be always relaying the same stream from an outside source?) So if I forced a 2nd track in the playlist then winamp would play that track after the first one and I don't want that to happen. I have the same problem but it seems that you are running a different setup than me and probably wouldn't work for me. I haven't attempted to get ahold of the makers yet but was going to tonight. Now as soon as the Song display in Winamp changes, the info is immediately sent out to the DNAS (open the DNAS in a browser window and you can instantly see it change)."įirst of all, thanks for looking into this. Not exactly sure why this works, but I did it two days ago and nothing bad has happened. Whayever URL you put in the first time, use that same URL and put a duplicate entry into the Playlist window. "The workaround is to put TWO entries into the playlist and just let the second one sit there.

Visit your DNAS by looking at it in your web browser, for example if your DNAS resided at then put that in your browser so you can check where it says "Current Song:" If everything has gone right, instead of Song Name, Artist Name and Stream Title being there as before, now you should just see the Song Name and Artist Name, as Tom Pepper and company intended. Get your transcoded stream going by tuning into the stream you are transcoding. Close the "Winamp Preferences" box.Įxit Winamp and re-launch it. See the checkbox labeled "Include stream name in title"? UNCHECK THAT BOX.Ĭlick on "OK" and close the "MPEG audio decoder settings" box. See the selection tabs on the top? Select "Streaming". NULLSOFT MPEG(Layer 1-3/CT AAC+/Dolby AAC) Audio Decoder 3.08 Ĭlick once on that entry, then click on the "Configure" button. What you're looking for in that list is this: Look at the list of "Plug-ins" to the right. Look under "Plug-ins", under "Input" and click there.Ĥ. In the "WINAMP" window, click on "Options".ģ.

If you are one of the people "transcoding" with Winamp and don't want your station info to appear in the listener's title display (most don't, it's long and annoying) here is how to get rid of it being sent out Winamp through the DNAS and out to appear in the listener's Winamp display (yes, this works, I tested it):ġ. The last part in parentheses I don't want going out the DNAS to the listeners. I wonder if in where it says $combine$ in the Encoders setup, that possibly changing that can somehow be the key to finding a workaround for this situation?

Right now, what is going out to the DNAS (and the listeners) is this:Ĭreedence Clearwater Revival - I Heard It Through The Grapevine (Radio Free Colorado - 12 Hour Show of 60s 70s 80s Classic Rock Music! Best Hi-Fi Sound on the Net!) How to just have the trancoding setup send out the Song Name and Artist without sending out the rest of the information in the Winamp display (the station info). There is a second issue I have asked support about. Now as soon as the Song display in Winamp changes, the info is immediately sent out to the DNAS (open the DNAS in a browser window and you can instantly see it change).

It works, but as everyone is saying the there will be "title lag" - it will always update the song title one song behind (or late). When tuning into a stream and re-encoding to another stream out to the DNAS, if you have only 1 item listed in the Playlist of Winamp for some reason the setup gets screwy and either Winamp, the Encoders or both get confused. I just finished closing a trouble ticket on this subject.
